Program 04
Visa Renewal Workshop
The rules are changing. Here's how to stay ahead of them.
Who it's for
All enrolled students with visas expiring within the next 6 months
As the Department of Homeland Security ends “Duration of Status,” students will face hard expiration dates for the first time, and most have never had to renew their immigration status before. This hands-on workshop walks students through exactly what's changing, what they need to do, and when.
What's covered
- What the end of Duration of Status means in practical terms
- How to find your current status expiration date
- A step-by-step walkthrough of the renewal process and required paperwork
- Common filing errors, and how to avoid them
- Key timelines: when to start, how long it takes, and what happens if you miss a deadline
- Why contacting USCIS for help is not advised
- Government fees and how to make payment
- How to identify whether your situation requires a discussion with an attorney before filing
Why it matters
This is a workshop, not a lecture. Students leave with action steps, a personalized sense of their own timeline, and the knowledge to recognize when it's essential to consult an attorney.
